Artwork chosen for 2010
It is time for the next Imagine event! Last year, the inaugural event took place on February 27 at the Texas State University Higher Education Center on University Drive. Musicians and performers from non-profits located in the Round Rock, Texas area entertained us, and over 30 local artists showed their works which were selected for inclusion by the Round Rock Area Arts Council (RRAAC). Most of the exhibits remained on display through May. Some of the artists’ works have been subsequently featured in venues at the library and local businesses.
This year there will be two changes to the program. The first change is a VIP reception. As this is a major fund raiser for the RRAAC, a reception will be held at 6:00 p.m. The attendees will be treated to appetizers and wine. In addition, there will be a couple of performances offered only during this hour. Those who donate or pledge $250 or more for 2010 are invited to this event.
The doors open to everyone at 7:00. Musical performances and art work will be displayed, similar to what was done last year. This year, however, ALL artwork will remain on display through May.
