Chalk Walk Arts Festival 2018
The Chalk Walk Arts Festival is Round Rock’s largest festival for the arts drawing tens of thousands of people to downtown Round Rock over the course of two days. The highlight of the event are the hundreds of artists who showcase their amazing talents by creating beautiful sidewalk murals. In addition to the sidewalk chalk murals, the Chalk Walk Arts Festival will showcase tons of local artists and artisans, community performers, non-profits, and businesses. PLUS, this year we will be rolling out new children’s activities in the Sprouts Kids Zone, youth performances on the School of Rock stages, and a concert on Friday AND Saturday night!

When Phil Bass, Chris Beall, Phil Hurley, and Lonnie Trevino Jr, four established Austin TX musicians, decide to join forces and play together just because it’s fun, you’re going to get something special. Such is the case for The South Austin Moonlighters, a band that blends blues, folk, soul, rock, and country, who can flip the switch from slow melodic country to gravelly rocking blues without a hitch. Think Little Feat meets Los Lobos with a splash of The Flying Burrito Bros, and you start to peel away the many musical layers of sound that makes up the S.A.M. Using a four part harmony at times accompanied with some brilliant guitar playing, S.A.M. plays with a full-bodied sound, and puts off an aura of down to earth Southern Blues and Country Rock, that can make even coldest days seem warm.
Saturday, October 6 | 8:00pm - 9:30pm
VALLEJO (pronounced Va-lay-ho) has become one of the most popular rock bands to hail from “The Live Music Capital of the World” Austin, Texas with their sonic melting pot of classic album rock mixed with contagious funky rhythms and Latin percussion.
Started by the three Vallejo brothers from El Campo, Texas – vocalist and lead guitarist AJ Vallejo, twin brother Alex Vallejo on drums and younger sibling Omar Vallejo on bass – along with high school friend Bruce Castleberry on guitar and percussionist Alex Geismar, Vallejo has toured all over the US and Mexico tearing up stages with their fiery live performances with such acts as Matchbox 20, Stone Temple Pilots, Juanes and Los Lobos.
