Target Audience: Anyone with basic experience in drawing faces and the basics of watercolor

Description: In this workshop you will learn to paint a portrait using watercolors and watercolor paper, working from a photograph. We’ll start with the basics of sketching an image and them painting it , primarily using glazing techniques.

Workshop Schedule: This workshop is spread over three weeks and will build on skills and techniques learned throughout the workshop. Purchasing a ticket will enroll you in all three workshops:

Wednesday, January 23, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Wednesday, January 30,10:00am – 1:00pm
Wednesday, February 6, 10:00am Р1:00pm

Skill Level: Intermediate. Some experience with drawing faces and with doing basics watercolors is helpful.

Materials: Basic materials will be provided, including paint, brushes, paper and board support. You are welcome to bring your own if you have them. We will use Arches 140 lb paper and tape our paper on a board.

PLEASE BRING some color photos of people you would like to paint.

Instructor Bio: A local artist, Jennifer Polnaszek has won awards for her portrait and figurative paintings at the Imagine Show, Georgetown Art Hop, and the Coppini in San Antonio. She has taught several “Drawing Faces” classes in the area, including Round Rock Artspace.
