zPrintmaking 2: Monotype (Cancelled)

A printmaking process where you paint and draw onto a surface. Learn to use this painterly process well-loved by Degas! You’ll learn how to prepare your plate and how to use various techniques to make marks on your surface. Create a unique print or monotype to bring home or gift to a loved one.

Cost: $105 payable with advanced registration + $20 class materials fee payable at the start of class
Classes meet: October 24, 6:00-9:00
Downtowner Art Gallery, 231 E. Main Street, Ste 160
The following is included as part of the class materials fee:
- Monotype paint
- Tempera paint
- Watercolor paper
Students should bring the following:
- Drawing paper
- Sketching pencils
- Watercolor pencils
- Rolling pin (optional)
- Assorted brushes
- Glass surface (like the glass from a frame) or Plexiglass
- Rubber or non-slip mat (optional)
About the instructor:
Ivette has a background in fine art with a concentration in printmaking. She went on to study fashion design and then received her international certification in makeup design and special effects. For ten years Ivette worked as a fashion and makeup stylist in New York City before moving to Austin, Texas with her family in 2014. In 2017 Ivette decided to return to her creative roots and pursue art full-time. She has shown her work in several galleries in the Austin area, teaches classes and workshops at various locations and also serves on the Round Rock Arts Board.
