Printmaking 3: Collagraph

Build a plate using cardboard and found objects! A process great for those who love to recycle or find uses for “junk”. Join us to learn how to assemble blocks and prepare them for the printing process. Leave with your own printing block and create more prints at home!

Cost: $105 paid through advanced registration + $20 class materials use fee
Class meets: November 7, 6:00-9:00.

Supplies for Collagraph class: (materials fee $20)
The following is provided in the class:
- Water-soluble block printing ink
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Gloss medium
- Printmaking paper
Students should bring the following:
- Rubber or non-slip mat (optional)
- Various textured items (cardboard, corrugated cardboard, fabric, yarn, string, twigs, rice, sand, masking tape, aluminum foil)
- Elmer’s liquid glue
- Assorted brushes and/or sponge brushes
- Cardboard or chipboard 8×10
Ivette has a background in fine art with a concentration in printmaking. She went on to study fashion design and then received her international certification in makeup design and special effects. For ten years Ivette worked as a fashion and makeup stylist in New York City before moving to Austin, Texas with her family in 2014. In 2017 Ivette decided to return to her creative roots and pursue art full-time. She has shown her work in several galleries in the Austin area, teaches classes and workshops at various locations and also serves on the Round Rock Arts Board.
