Meet our volunteer curator
Clare Wuellner

Clare Wuellner is an Austin-based interdisciplinary artist, curator, and educator whose work bridges science, nature, and imaginative visual storytelling. A scientist by training—with a Ph.D. in entomology—Wuellner spent years as a scientist in academia before fully embracing her lifelong calling as an artist. Her background deeply informs her practice, which draws inspiration from the natural world, ecological systems, and unexpected connections between disparate ideas. Through an eclectic mix of media and innovative processes, her work invites curiosity, wonder, and reflection.
Wuellner is the founder of Blue Victory Gallery Studio and a 2025 recipient of the City of Austin’s Nexus Grant for Follow the Monarchs, which will culminate in a major installation debuting at the Texas Science & Natural History Museum. She is represented by Art Direct Gallery in Cedar Park, Texas. Her work has been featured in several publications as well as in solo and group exhibitions throughout Central Texas; including exhibitions with Round Rock Arts & Culture, Art Direct, the Neill-Cochran House Museum, the Women’s Caucus for Art—Texas, and numerous festivals and installations.
Committed to accessibility and community engagement, Wuellner also teaches art through nonprofit programs serving seniors, underserved populations, and neurodivergent learners. Her practice reflects a belief that creativity—like nature—is expansive, resilient, and deeply human.
She has been active in the Round Rock arts community for several years and was invited to be Curator of the Penfold Theatre Gallery with Round Rock Arts in Winter of 2024.
